Take It Easy (Live)

How’s your week going?  As for me, well, I’m standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona… in spirit, anyway!  Here to smooth over any rough edges for us are the Eagles performing Take It Easy.

Lyrics and credits, below.  Enjoy!

Well I’m a runnin’ down the road
Tryin’ to loosen my load
I’ve got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me
Two that want to stone me
One says she’s a friend of mine

Take it easy, take it easy
Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don’t even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
Take it easy

Well, I’m a standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It’s a girl my Lord
In a flat-bed Ford
Slowin’ down to take a look at me

Come on, baby
Don’t say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love
Is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
But we will never be here again
So open up I’m climbin’ in
Take it easy

Well, I’m a runnin’ down the road
Tryin’ to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin’ for a lover who won’t blow my cover
She’s so hard to find

Take it easy, take it easy
Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Come on, baby
Don’t say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love
Is gonna save me

Well you know, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

Boy the Eagles sure get a lot of flack. I’m pretty sure it’s more about the dominant personalities in the band and not the music. I blame The Dude! How can you not smile when hearing this song! A great Jackson Brown number!

    1. Hi Ian!

They do, don’t they? It must be because their music is so amazing…if it weren’t people would probably be indifferent. It wouldn’t be surprising if they all had strong personalities with equally strong ideas. That can be challenging to navigate. Jeff Lebowski sure can stir things up 🙂

I always smile when I hear this song. Jackson Browne is such a good song writer. He also sounds great singing this one during his acoustic sets.

      Thank you, Ian, as always.

    1. Hi D.S.!

Absolutely, Jackson Browne’s version is wonderful. I especially like the recordings from his Solo Acoustic performances.

Congratulations on the launch of your new blog! I’m looking forward to your discussions about music and collectibles. I love vinyl music :).
