How about a smile and some blues? Here to deliver both are Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee with one of the best performances of Bring It On Home to Me. The dialogue between these two brings a smile every time.
“You know I tried, tried to treat her right….”
“Oh did you, man?”
Lyrics and credits, below. Enjoy!
If you ever change your mind
About leaving, leaving me behind
Oh bring it to me
Bring your sweet lovin’
Bring it on home to me
Sonny, if your woman was thinkin’ about leavin’ you,
What would you do to get her back? What would you do?
Are you talkin’ to me?
Yeah.
Oh, brother, I ain’t got much to say about that, man.
I’ll let my harmonica talk for me. Just like this.
I’ll give you jewellery and money too
But that ain’t all
I would do for you
Bring it, bring your sweet lovin’
Bring it on home to me
Do your thing. Bring her back.
One more thing
You know I tried, tried to treat her right
Oh did you, man?
But she stayed out
Stayed out late at night–but I forgive her
Bring it to me
Bring your sweet lovin’
Bring it back home to me

These two are really great, they are part of the Californian blues style, most of their recordings, are what is termed studio live, as in those days artist had to come in for an hour, play their songs live in the studio and that became the LP. These two were great masters of the Blues, I have many of their recordings, and love them, so thanks for blogging this. Thanks for following and liking my blog, best wishes and blessings, Charles.

Hi Charles! Studio live — that sounds much better than live-ish, thank you! I’m so glad that you like this one as much as I do. These two are amazing.
I always enjoy your blog, Charles. Lately I’ve been enjoying your poetry, in particular.
Thanks again. It’s always nice to see you :).

Thanks Danica, have seen your thumb-pic on my blog often, but feel a bit bad that i have not thanked you or reciprocated, but get so many emails to do with the blog and all the followers every day that I can’t cope, but will try and follow more often, as I really enjoy your blog and work as well. Have a great Easter, best wishes and blessing, Charles.
