Bleed It Out (Live)

How’s your week going, beautiful people?  How are the deadlines, dreams and drum solos?  What, no drum solos?  Rob Bourdon and Street Drum Corps are here to take care of that for us.  Time to let off a little steam and remember:  sometimes we just can’t take ourselves too seriously [3:56].

Here’s Linkin Park performing an intro of Sweet Child O’ Mine [4:06] before launching into Bleed It Out [5:29] with Street Drum Corps [7:10].

Lyrics and credits, below.  Enjoy!

Yeah, here we go for the hundredth time
Hand grenade pins in every line
Throw ’em up and let something shine
Going out of my f*cking mind
Filthy mouth, no excuse
Find a new place to hang this noose
String me up from atop these roofs
Knot it tight so I won’t get loose
Truth is, you can stop and stare
Run myself out and no one cares
Dug the trench out, laid down there
With a shovel up out of reach somewhere
Yeah, someone pour it in
Make it a dirt dance floor again
Say your prayers and stomp it out
When they bring that chorus in

I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away, just to throw it away

I bleed it out, go, stop this show
Choppy words in that sloppy flow
Shotgun opera, lock and load
C**k it back and then watch it go
Mama help me, I’ve been cursed
Death is rolling in every verse
Candy paint on his brand new hearse
Can’t contain him, he knows he works
F*ck, this hurts I won’t lie
Doesn’t matter how hard I try
Half the words don’t mean a thing
I know that I won’t be satisfied
So why try ignoring him?
Make it a dirt dance floor again
Say your prayers and stomp it out
When I bring that chorus in

I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away, just to throw it away

I bleed it out, I’ve opened up these scars
I’ll make you face this
I’ve pulled myself so far
I’ll make you face this now

I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
I bleed it out, digging deeper just to throw it away
Just to throw it away, just to throw it away

I bleed it out
I bleed it out
I bleed it out….

    1. You’re absolutely right, Frank! I believe it has something to do with replicating the heartbeat. The musicians, scientists and all-around music-lovers among us may have some ideas…Dear Readers, any insights?

  1. I absolutely love “Sweet Child of Mine.” I did not know about Linkin Park’s version. I may be spelling this wrong. It is a little late at the library but wished to say thanks for this sweet song!

    1. They do a great job of it, don’t they? I’m so glad that you enjoyed this one. Hopefully your day at the library was fruitful. Thanks for stopping by, it’s always lovely to see you.
