I didn’t realize there was so much music! It’s more mega-mix than playlist.
I like all these songs and several are easy favorites. I noticed a definite tendency to live performances followed by vinyl (and mono, if available). Several are examples of stellar songwriting and others, less so. I’m not sure there’s a common thread or theme; it’s a mixed mega-mix bag. Maybe it’s in their telling of the story….
I hope you’ll find something to enjoy! 🙂

I’ll happily listen to any playlist that opens with the Cure! Nice one Danica, Happy New Years!

Thanks, Geoff! I’d forgotten about that first music-related post featuring a Cure song until I went a-strollin’! The Cure has the distinction of featuring twice, and something tells me they’ll feature again…
Happy New Year to you as well! Wishing you all the very best for this new horizon. 🙂

There’s quite a few beauties in there, that I had forgotten about. Hope you don’t mind but I may merge your playlist with my playlist and have the ultimate 2017 party (and I use the term loosely) mix. Cheers, Harlon

I love that idea, Harlon! Please merge away! Do you have your playlist posted? We could do a round robin….

I love the diversity of this list. Have you ever heard the original version of “Lovers In A Dangerous Time” by Bruce Cockburn? One of my favorite Canadian artists.

I’m really glad you like it, Kevin. Oh yes, absolutely! Bruce Cockburn crafted a flawlessly beautiful song with that one. I was listening to the BNL rendition when I posted it.

Some real great tunes in there, Danica. Really nice to see Imperial Drag! Man, I was such a big fan of that band back in the day. Real shame they only gave us one album… but what an album!
Happy New Year to you! Hope it’s bright, positive, and all manner of awesome!

Thank you, J! I first learned of Imperial Drag from one of Rich’s posts. I couldn’t believe how great they sounded and that I’d never heard of them. My first question was, where is the rest of their catalogue? I was thrilled and saddened within a matter of minutes. It really is a shame they didn’t stay together longer.
Happy New Year to you as well, J! I wish you a truly wonderful year. 🙂

At least there’s one great album to enjoy, eh? So much great music on that one – taking in a range of styles and influences.
