Let’s Lehizdangef, My Sister! [Beauty of the World]

Let’s go back, my sister.

Before dead kids and chemo.  Before scorched houses and soup kitchens.  Before lost dreams and forbidden ice cream.

Let’s lehizdangef, my sister!  We’ll find echoes of our childhood laughter in the summer’s breeze.

Beauty of the World:  In this series I use an “untranslatable word” in a story.
These wonderful words capture the beauty of languages around the world.

.

Untranslatable Word:
Lehizdangef ( להזדנגף ) (Hebrew, v.):  to stroll along Tel Aviv’s Dizengoff (street), i.e., to have carefree fun.
